Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced between 1830 and 1837, William IV glass decanters bridge the transition between late Regency and early Victorian design. They typically feature heavy lead crystal, panel cut or mould-formed bodies, collared necks, and broad, faceted glass stoppers.

19th-century decanters were primarily crafted from heavy lead glass, valued for its weight and light-refracting properties. The pieces were hand-blown, cut using iron and sandstone wheels, and fitted with hand-ground glass stoppers.

Authentic 19th-century decanters display minor irregularities from hand-blowing, polished pontil marks on the base, and physical wear on the underside. Original stoppers and internal neck joints were individually ground to fit each bottle, often bearing matching hand-engraved numbers.

Arrange a trio of glass decanters on a timber sideboard, a polished brass tray, or inside a glass display cabinet to maximize natural light reflection. Pairing them with contemporary or period bar accessories completes the surface arrangement.

Hand wash glass decanters using warm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding dishwashers which cause irreversible surface clouding. Ensure the interior is thoroughly dry before reinserting stoppers to prevent trapped moisture stains.
