Small French Tortoiseshell and Brass Inlay Mantel Clock

Description

A good sized French mantel clock, made in The Louis VXI style for the British market dating to around 1860. It has a waisted case with applied brass decoration and brass and tortoiseshell inlaid panels. The blue enamel dial has fancy pierced brass hands and a beaded bezel. The clock has a centre window showing the engraved pendulum which drives the 8 day movement that strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
