Oak & Mahogany Moon Dial Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

This is a very attractive oak and mahogany longcase clock. It has an 8 day movement and has a moon phase indicator to the arch of the dial.. It is by John Warner of Evesham, Worcestershire and dates from around 1820.

It has a nice quality oak and mahogany case that is in excellent original condition. The plinth at the bottom is probably later, this is often the case due to the clock standing on a damp stone floor.

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive painted dial. In the arch is a working moon phase indicator and the dial has a subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator.

The clock is running and keeping good time with all functions working as they should.

The maximum dimensions are:

54cm(21“) wide

216cm(85“) high

25cm(10“) deep
