Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Experience tells me that this clock has been in single family ownership from new.

A very well constructed caddy topped case with contrasting gilt finials and fittings and gilt caryatids to the canted corners, carrying handles and sound frets to the sides and standing on splayed bracket feet. Both front and rear doors are lockable with the origional keys. (A feature almost never found).

The arched brass dial has a matted centre with gilt spandrels and a silvered chapter ring and subsiduary "rise and fall" dial. The chapter ring has engraved black Roman numerals with 5 min Arabic numerals to the minute ring.

The 8 day WINTERHALDER & HOFFMEIR movement sounds the quarters with a "ting-tang" strike and the hours on a single gong. It has just been serviced by our BHI registered staff and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee.
All origional keys. Mearsurements include all finials.
A gem of a clock.
All cards accepted.
