Description

A solid oak longcase clock, dating to the end of the 18th Century beginning of the 19th Century. It has a dome top hood with a wavy pediment and three turned removable giltwood finials and reeded side pillars. The case has a long arch top door and a shaped plinth. The brass dial has a scene of three galleons on the sea that rock in time with the pendulum within the arch. The dial has a subsidiary seconds dial and an engraved silvered chapter ring signed by Harry Bush of Wincanton. It has an 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell. Harry Bush is listed as working around 1815.
