French Gilt Metal Garniture Set

19th century
Description

A very attractive and appealing Garniture set by the renowned maker MOUGIN of PARIS.

The whole set is in lovely condition with abundant detail in design and style. The sevres panels depict boy and girl shepherds and the urns too have male and female figures. To the top of the clock, two cherubs support a porcelain globe. The cointhian topped columns to the side of the clock are supported by figures holding a bow and arrow.

The 8 day movement has a white dial with black Roman numerals and floral decoration to the centre. It strikes on the half-hour and the hour and has just been fully serviced by our BHI registered staff. It carries our usual 12 mth full parts and labour guarantee.

There is too much detail on this clock for it all to be included in this description but it is a clock set that would be admired by all who see it. The dimensions shown are for the clock. The garnitures are 39cm tall by 13cm square.

All cards accepted.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
