It was listed by Oliver Sargent Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Oliver Sargent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
Fully marked original dial retaining all original paint and in fine condition. The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth 11 took place on the 2nd June 1953, so this actual clock must have been made just after the Coronation, making it a much more desirable clock especially with the Royal Cypher to the dial. The clock case boasts 2 opening hatches, one top, one bottom. Very substantial brass bezel with original glass. I think anyone looking for a best quality wall clock by a British maker with excellent investment potential should seriously consider this item. The clock is in full working order. Size approx. 38.5cm max case from side to side and approx. 14.5 cm max deep, dial is 30.5cm diameter. Price £795.00
