Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The movement has an attractive 11 inch square brass dial with gilt brass spandrels and silvered roman chapter ring. At the top of the dial is selector lever for either 4 or 8 bells.
The case is in good condition and a nice colour, the movement looks to have recently been serviced and is in good working order. It comes complete with a full nest of 8 bells, gong (for striking the hours), pendulum, weights and a winding key.
