Early 10 Inch Dial Wall Clock

Description

A rare sized mahogany English dial clock dating to around 1800. It has a fine turned outer wooden surround with a stepped concave brass bezel. The back box is of traditional salt box construction with a side and base door. The 10' silvered dial is engraved with 5 minute markers and is signed by the maker Thomas Bruton of Bow, Middlesex. (Bow used to be in Middlesex). It has an 'A' framed plate movement with an anchor escapement. Thomas Bruton as listed as a maker in 1778-1811.

Condition:

The case is in good original condition, it has had minor repairs over the years such as a replacement rear hanging plate and bezel screws, which are old repairs that add to its charm. The doors appear to be later replacements. The dial has been re-silvered, the engraving is a little worn in places. The movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
