A stunning original antique French brass Rococo Cartel clock, classic Rococo asymmetrical shape with 'C' scrolls, foliage and floral swags. The dial is enamel on copper with blue lettering and the original gilt brass fretted hands. The modelling is crisp and well detailed with a bright and clean finish. The pendulum can just be see swinging below the dial.

The movement is by the French maker Japy Freres and has their 'Grande Medaille D'Honneur' mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and working condition and runs for 8 days on one wind. Pendulum is an old replacement. It strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, we have gently cleaned and polished the case to a bright and clean finish, there is some wear and minor discolouration in places. The back cover hinge is missing, however this does not effect the cover fitting the clock. The dial is in very good condition with no chips or scratches, it is very slightly faded.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
