Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The mahogany case is in typical “London” style with arched moulded trunk door and panelled base. The arched hood has reeded columns and unusual fish scale brass side frets.
The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and working date window. To the arch is a strike/silent selector. The case is in good, unrestored condition. The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
