The 8-day fusee-driven movement with its original brass pendulum, retains its original painted convex dial in excellent undamaged condition which is signed: Samuel Gatward, of Huntingdon. Good blued steel hands. Guaranteed for at least 2 years.
A Samuel Gatward is recorded working in Hoddesdon (Herts) circa 1750; this is likely to be by his son...(Huntingdon is about 50 miles North of Hoddesdon).
