Late 18th Century Mahogany 8 Day Longcase

Description

FINE late 18th century flame mahogany cased 8 day longcase clock by J. DAVIES of NORTH SHIELDS. Gorgeous design tall slim case with long main door and arched top. The case is cross banded and inlaid with boxwood and ebony chequered stringing all over. The canted corners and the top of the case mould are also inlaid with a fancy inlay with pen and ink decoration. The case stands on bracket feet.

The movement has been fully serviced and is in perfect working order. Has its original brass pendulum and original lead weights.

The case is a gorgeous colour with rich patination and beautiful choice of veneers used throughout.

Very good condition.
