George III Oak 8 Day Longcase Clock

Description

Here we have a very nice oak longcase clock that needs a little attention to the movement. It is by James Webb of Frome (Somerset) He is listed as working there from 1760 to 1814. The case has beautiful proportions and is a lovely colour.

The 8 day movement is complete but needs some attention to the striking mechanism. The strike mechanism is all there but will not strike the correct number for the hour. It has a beautifully painted dial that looks to have recently been restored.

The maximum dimensions are:

49cm(19“) wide

221cm(87“) high

25cm(10“) deep
