Mantel or Bracket Clock Superb Red Lacquer.

Description

A good size Regency period bracket clock with pull repeat and bell strike for the hours . Interestingly the case has been decorated in chinoiserie lacquer work, probably in the Edwardian period, when lacquer work became fashionable again. The red lacquer is probably the most desirable colour to have. The case sides show fish-scale sound frets to let the sound of the bell out and the clock features strike silent for those who wish to not be disturbed by the hourly strike of a clock. The clock is very much an interior design piece which could look fabulous in most interiors, contemporary or classic. Housing a fine twin fusee movement.
