Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a gong and repeats hours at will, whilst retaining its fine original platform lever escapement. Numbered both on the original leather travelling case and on the clock itself. Perfect working order. 7.5ins (19cms) high, handle up. Lovely!

With a relatively early number (2813) this clock is not signed with the iconic "HJ" (with parrot between) trademark, but it IS fully signed inside. See image of the stamp which appears on the back of the dialplate.
