Lovely Antique "Grandmother" Longcase Clock with Westminster Chimes

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely quality little "Grandmother" longcase clock. It is under 6 feet tall so will fit in any room. The "Chippendale" style case is in beautifully figured mahogany with chequer inlay. It dates from around 1900 - 1920.

The 3 train 8 day spring barrel movement has Westminster chimes that sound on four gongs every quarter and strikes the hours on the hour on two additional gongs. The smart brass dial has gilt spandrels and a silvered chapter ring. It also has a strike/silent selector to the arch, however this is not operating and appears to never have been connected.

The case is in good unrestored condition and a lovely colour.

The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

181cm (71.25") high

41cm (16") wide

24cm (9.5") deep

Free local delivery and set up (80mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
