French Giant "Grande Sonnerie" Carriage Clock

Description

A fine and large Giant "Grande Sonnerie" French CARRIAGE CLOCK in full working order.

Contained in its over-sized and high quality gilded cast brass case, this good clock is totally original and retains its original lever platform escapement. The 8-day movement strikes hours and quarters on two gongs, with a lever within the base to control the "Grande Sonnerie"; "Quarters" and "Silent" functions.

The gilt-masked enamel dial is perfect as is the smaller subsidiary dial (which is for the alarm function.) Full working order; guaranteed for at least two years and complete with its original outer leather travelling case. 8.5ins high (handle up)
