Early 19th cent drop dial wall clock , very good colour and figuring with an 8 day fusee movement, with painted dial, spade hands and signed,

Carter & Son,

Cornhill,

London.

Listed in Loomes 1810.

Painted 12" dial & Roman numerals.

This clock has an extremely baffling feature, at 12 o'clock on the dial is a cut-out and on the other side is a little shelf area. No idea what it's for. Intriguing as the clock has nothing missing but this embellishment has been there from day one !!
