?A Napoleon III cut brass inlaid red tortoiseshell mantel clock in the Louis XIV style. The red tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid case surmounted by a seated putti, the sunburst pendulum visible through the glazed door opening to gilt dial with enamel Roman numeral tablets, the inside of the rear door & floor finely inlaid. The eight day Japy Freres movement, numbered 544, rack striking the hour & half hour on a bell. The whole dressed with gilt bronze mounts. Oval stamp to movement 'Japy Fréres et cie Exposition 1855 Grande Med. D'Honeur'.
