Silver 'The Comet' pocket watch and chain, 1925.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the brand name 'The Comet'. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1925, with a case maker's mark of ALD for the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific maker of cases for various watch manufacturers. The case is in good condition, just the odd minor mark, and the engine turned detail to the back of the watch is still nice and crisp.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a double albert, with each chain measuring 19.5cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The hallmarks on the albert are for Birmingham 1925 with a chain maker's mark for the Birmingham silversmith William Cashmore.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
