Longcase clock with a brass dial and thirty-hour movement by the celebrated Montgomeryshire clockmaker, Samuel Roberts of Llanfair Caereinion.
The one-piece eleven-inch dial has an attractive engraved floral design and the clock is housed in an exceptional oak case of the dark and dense native oak associated with the best Welsh furniture.
This is a previously unrecorded example and unusual for this maker in not bearing a number. The dial is similar to another, also un-numbered, example recorded as the ''Llangadfan clock'' in ''Samuel Roberts Clock Maker'' (WTR Pryce & TA Davies 1985), which is given the date of c.1781
