Small Mahogany 8 Inch Fusee Dial Clock (England, C. 1915)

Description

A solid mahogany cased 8 inch diameter dial clock. It has a traditional pegged case, a turned outer rim, a brass bezel and a painted enamel dial signed by the retailer A F Corey of Plymouth. The chain driven 8 day fusee movement has stopwork to prevent overwinding and was made by Astral and is numbered 50869.

Astral was a trade name of H Williamson Ltd and Coventry was where the factory was. The chain fusee movement was the first type of movement to be produced at Williamson's Coventry factory in 1910 and production continued there up until 1932.

Current Condition

The case is in excellent original condition, it has a working lock sand key to the bottom door and the movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
