Gents 1950s 18ct gold chronograph wristwatch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, believed to be a Venus 188, which is working nicely. The Venus 188 was used by high end watch manufacturers, for instance it can also be found in the Breitling Top Time. The movement is protected by an inner metal cover.

The watch measures 37.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown, buttons and lugs. The case is 18ct gold and there are Swiss hallmarks on the back of the case, including the Minerva head, and also the Poinçon de Maître, or case maker's mark, for Joseph Erard was registered in 1934. There is some unevenness in places but it is quite gentle.

The lens is in good condition.

The unsigned dial has been professionally refinished at some stage and is in good condition. Feuille shaped hands and two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 30 minutes. The chronograph feature is operated by pressing the top button to start and stop, and the bottom button to re-set to zero.

The watch has a vintage strap.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
