Gents 1950s Création wristwatch.

The brand name Création was registered in 1948 by Creation Watch Co SA of Neuchâtel, Hauterive and Biel in Switzerland.

The watch has a 25-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. The rotor is signed with the name Bidynator.

Early automatic watches had been powered with bumper movements. Rolex subsequently developed a full rotor system where the rotor moved in one direction - this movement was protected by a patent. Felsa subsequently developed an automatic movement where the rotor moved in both directions and this bi-directional was duly named the Bidynator.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown an the lugs. The case is gold plated and is in good condition, just some wear behind the winding crown on the back of the watch. The screw-on case back is signed and it also states that the case is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in good original condition with original hands, centre seconds hand and

date (adjusted by turning the hands forwards).

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
