Worboys Antiques has dated this piece to the Regency era.
The convex painted enamel dial has a deep convex glass and is signed by the original makers, Martin and Baskell of Cheltenham. It has an 8 day fusee pendulum movement with an engraved backplate and pendulum. Martin and Baskell are listed as working in the first half of the 19th Century and after 1840 became known as Martin and Basket
