Antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch, 1918.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, P S Bartlett grade with patterned plates and starwheel regulator, which is working nicely. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business.

As well as being fully signed, the movement has the serial number 22,224,353, which dates it back to 1918. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop. The case is 10ct gold plate and it was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company based in England. The case is in good condition with just light surface marks from use, nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial is in very nice condition and has the stumpier Roman numerals which were popular in the 1920s. Blued steel hands including the special half hunter hour hand which means that the time can be read even when the front cover is closed.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
