Description

Gents silver wrist watch from J W Benson, 1937.

The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Birmingham 1937, together with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison of the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer of cases for various watch makers. The case is in good condition.

The lens has a couple of marks but you have to look quite closely to see them.

The dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, J W Benson, London. The dial has darkened with age but is still easy to read. Original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a J W Benson presentation box.
