Description

A small, well proportioned solid oak longcase clock dating the the beginning of the 19th Century. It has a swan neck hood, with reeded side pilars, a shaped long door and reeded quarter corner pillars. The enamel dial has raised gilt corner spandrels, a ship within the arch and subsidiary date and seconds dials and is signed by the maker, John Thompson of Leslie, Fife, Scotland. It has an 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell. John Thompson is listed as 1789 and his son as 1825.

Current Condition
