Description

A very original and attractive figured solid mahogany longcase clock dating to the first half of the 19th Century. It has a traditional Sussex design case of simple lines, with the more expensive fire curl mahogany veneers. It has a flat top with a 12 inch square dial flanked by side pillars, a long figured door and an inset base panel with a shaped plinth. The painted enamel dial is signed by the maker, Weston of Hastings. It has a 30 hour birdcage movement that strikes the hours on a bell. Robert Weston is listed as working 1828-78.

Current Condition

The case is in excellent original condition, the movement has been fully rstored and serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
