The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The watch has a 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 28mm wide excluding the winding crown and 28mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and is hallmarked inside the case back for Edinburgh 1952. The case is in good condition and the shaped lugs are a particularly handsome feature.

The back of the watch has a retirement inscription from the Dewsbury County Borough Police, 1955.
The lens has a mark but it seems to be within the lens, so a manufacturing flaw.
The signed dial is in good condition with just a light freckling. Original hands, centre seconds and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
