The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is a 1919 presentation inscription from the staff of Sainsburys in Lewisham.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a major supplier of cases to various watch manufacturers. It is 10ct gold plated and was originally guaranteed to wear 20 years. The case is in good condition with just a couple of “pin prick” indentations to the back, nothing serious at all.

The front cover is released by pushing the winding crown. Inside there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition. The white dial is signed with the name of the original retailer, Sanders & Co of London. Sanders & Co was founded in 1905 by Sidney Sanders and William Metherell. Their first branch was in Streatham High Road with another branch being opened in 1908 in Brixton. The company was taken over by H Samuel in 1984 and subsequently closed down. The dial is in lovely condition.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
