Description

A 1927 Elgin pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 291, which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Elgin name and the serial number 29924294 dates it back to 1927.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14ct gold filled and is nicely detailed on the front and back. There is some rubbing to the design on the back, just from years of use, but overall it is in good condition for a piece from the 1920s.

The watch glass has minor marking but is very acceptable.

The signed dial is unusual in design and most charming with handsome blued steel hands, a nicely detailed centre and stylish numbers.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
