Good English Fusee Mantel Clock

Description

A charming early-mid 19th century ENGLISH MANTEL CLOCK in full working order.

The case is of drum design, supported on a bronzed cherub supporting the movement aloft, and is raised on a good variegated Sienna marble base. The 8-day movement is chain-driven fusee, with a fine gilded and engine-turned dial and beautifully elegant 'Vulliamy' style heart-shaped blued steel hands. Engraved signature to the rear: "Henry, Berkeley Square, LONDON". 11ins (28cms) high.

***Stephen Henry worked in London (Brook Street, near Berkeley Square) from 1810 until 1840.
