The 8-day movement strikes hours on a bell, with a finely engraved backplate and the original anchor escapement and pendulum. The dial is lovely, with fine cast ormolu spandrels; date aperture and "Strike/Silent" to the arch. Engraved signature to the central cartouche.
John Davidge worked in London from 1802-1804, though it is likely he worked in the city for somewhat longer than two years.
