Regency Period Mahogany & Brass Fusee Bracket Clock

Description

A handsome regency period mahogany and brass bracket clock by Starling, London. This is probably Mary Starling who was working in London in the early 19th Cent. The back of the dial is also denoted "Starling London" as instruction to the original dial painter.

The case is veneered in nicely figured mahogany and has a most attractive gadrooned top, brass pineapple finial and brass mouldings.

The twin fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a white painted dial with original moon hands.

The case is in good condition and stands very well, it does however have some age related mark and veneer chips. The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

48cm (19") high incl finial

30cm (12") wide

17cm (6.75") deep
