A 1940s Art Deco clock by Vitascope.

This fantastic clock was made in Ramsey on the Isle of Man in circa 1940 and has an automated rocking ship on an illuminated ocean scene with cloud background. The ship gently rocks with the lit background changing from sunrise to sunset.

It is in original condition and full working order with original hands and dot numerals and pale blue Bakelite case.

Original green painted aluminium back with original transfer stickers and switch for light and and start wind. The ship is thought to be a replica of the famous Star of India, built in Ramsey in 1863.

A rare early example (number 115). We acquired it from a gentleman in Ramsey. It belonged to his mother who worked in the factory.

There is an example of one in the Manx Museum.

In excellent condition.
