The 8-day movement strikes and repeats hours on a bell, and retains its original verge escapement. The fine dial has a pretty engraved scene to the centre; orginal blued steel hands; date aperture; cast spandrels and "Strike/Silent" control to the arch. 20.5ins high excluding finial.
John Taylor is recorded working in Upper Moorfields, London around 1780.
