An antique 1876 silver Waltham pocket watch.

The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. ( A winding key is included )The movement is the Home Watch Co grade and the serial number 884885 tells us that it was made between February and March 1876. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover... it has quite a lot of surface scratches where the winding key has rubbed over the years.

The watch measures 53mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and is stamped sterling silver and A.W.Co American Watch Company. The back of the case has light surface marking from use and a few small "dings" to the edge and back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1870s piece.

The watch glass has a small nibble to the outer edge at 5 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The enamel dial has a few hairlines although hardly noticeable to the naked eye.

The watch has its original gold hands and blued steel sub second hand.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
