An antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch, 1918.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The watch has a stem-winding movement, P S Bartlett grade, which is working nicely. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin, Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. The serial number on the movement, 22,258,615 dates the watch back to 1918. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover and there is a little scratching to this inner cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company, Aaron Dennison had close links with Waltham. The case has surface marks and a little gentle unevenness to the back but overall very acceptable for a 1918 piece. The plate has worn off the winding crown.

The crown is pushed in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial is in beautiful condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single albert which measures 22cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and albert will be sent in a new presentation box.
