An antique silver Waltham pocket watch 1885.

The watch has a key-wound movement which is working nicely. The movement is the Home Watch Co grade and the serial number 2891721 which tells us that it was made in 1886. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover... it has quite a lot of surface scratches where the winding key has rubbed over the years.

The watch measures 52.6mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for Birmingham 1885 with a case maker's mark for Alfred Bedford, Manager of the UK arm of Waltham. The case has light surface marks from use and some mild bruising to the back but overall it is in nice condition for an 1880s piece.

The watch glass is in good condition with only a small nibble to the bottom edge although hardly noticeable.

The white enamel dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original gold hands and a later blued steel sub second hand although antique.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
