Antique silver Waltham Marquis pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Marquis grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 16,593,136 which dates it back to around 1908. The movement is protected by an inner cover .

The watch itself measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for Birmingham 1910, with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison of the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific case manufacturer who supplied various watch manufacturers including Waltham, with whom he had close ties. The back of the case has engine turned detail, still nice and crisp, and a central cartouche with initials. There are a few little pin prick sized “dings” to the back but nothing serious at all.

The watch glass has a little minor marking, again nothing serious.

The dial is in lovely condition.

The watch comes with a silver double albert with each chain measuring 21cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
