A Waltham Bond Street half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Bond Street grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 13514473 dates it back to 1904. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by Waltham. It is the Star model which is gold plated and was originally, “guaranteed to wear 10 years”. The case has some marking as can be seen in the photos. Originally there would have been engine turned detail to both the front and back of the case but a lot of this has worn smooth from use over the years and there is wear to the outer edges of the front and back from use.

The front cover has a small lens surrounded by Roman numerals filled with a dark blue enamel. The winding crown pushes in to open this front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed white enamel dial has a small hairline crack between 3 & 4 o'clock although hardly noticeable but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has blued steel hands designed so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed … with conventional hands, it would be impossible to tell which hand was which through the small lens..

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
