Oliver Sargent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The clock has a diameter of approx. 9cm and is 3.8cm deep excluding the original fixing bracket and winding crown. The very heavy case retaining almost all the original chrome or nickel plate. The screw on front bezel is fitted with the original bevelled glass that shows only very minor scratching. The very fine original dial and deep blued hand set are in unrestored condition. S Smith & Son is recorded working at 9, Strand, London from 1913. The clock is in full working order keeping time. This would also make a very fine desk clock. RESEREVED JJ
