Convex Fusee Dial Clock (England, C. 1840)

Description

A very original mid 19th Century 12 inch convex dial clock. It has a rich medium mahogany outer bezel, a traditional pegged case, a cast bezel with a convex glass. The painted convex enamel dial is signed by the maker, Staniland of Malton. It has an 8 day fusee movement with stopwork to prevent overwinding. Robert Staniland is listed as a maker in 1840.

Current Condition

The case is in lovely original condition and retains its original patina. The dial has been cleaned and the lettering has been restored. The movement has been fully serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
