Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The hood has slim turned columns with brass capitals below an elegant swan neck pediment with brass patria and a fluted brass finial.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a particularly attractive silvered dial with a hunting seen to the arch. It also has subsidiary seconds and date dials.
The case is in excellent condition and has retained its original wax polished finish. The movement is in good working order and is complete with pendulum, weights, bell and winding key.
