Description

An attractive late 19th century walnut "GRANDMOTHER" LONGCASE CLOCK in full working order.

The walnut case features columns either side of the hood; long arched-top trunk door incorporating finely-figured veneers and a panelled base with solid ogee feet.

The 8-day movement is weight-driven and strikes hours on a bell, whilst the engraved dial, with its silvered chapter-ring, features a "rolling moon" in the arch ~ an unusual feature for a longcase clock of this size. 73ins high; 15ins wide; 8.5ins deep. (185 x 38 x 21.5cms)
