Waltham P S Bartlett Grade Pocket Watch, 1906

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique Waltham P S Bartlett grade pocket watch, 1906.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, the P S Bartlett grade with star wheel regulator, which is working nicely. Patten Sargeant Bartlett was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. As well as being fully signed, this movement also has the serial number 15,016,242 which dates it back to 1906. The movement is protected by an inner cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14ct gold plated, originally guaranteed to wear 25 years; it was the top of the range of gold plated cases produced by the Dennison Watch Case Company, a prolific manufacturer who supplied many watch companies. The case is in beautiful condition and the engine turned detail to the back is still nice and crisp.

The watch glass has very minor marking, nothing serious at all.

The white enamel dial is in beautiful condition.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
