It is Baroque in style and features stylised mythical creatures and flowing foliage. Above the dial is a swan neck pediment with a lyre in the centre.

The large dial has a dished gilt brass centre and is enamel on copper with red half-hour markers. It is complete with original blued steel hands and bevelled convex glass.
The French movement is by the famous maker Japy Freres and has their 'Grande Medaille de Honour' mark on the movement backplate. We have stripped, cleaned and fully overhauled the movement. We then tested the movement for at least 2 weeks to prove its reliability. Pendulum is a replacement. Duration of the movement is 8 days between winding and it sounds the hours and half-hours on a sonorous bell. Below we have a video of the movement running and striking.
Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish and there are no losses. There is some very minor wear to the original gilding. The dial is also in good condition, no chips or scratches just some hairlines which you can see in the picture below.
Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
