A 1920s silver Waltham pocket watch & chain.

The watch has a good quality stem-winding movement with jewelled pallets and damascening, all major extra expense at the time of manufacture. The movement is working well. It is fully signed and the serial number 25686440 dates it back to 1926. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both case backs for Birmingham 1925 with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison who was heavily involved in Waltham before emigrating to the UK to set up a watch case manufacturing company. The case has light surface marking from use and mild bruising to the back and edge but overall it is in nice condition for a 1920s piece.

The acyrilic lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial is signed A.W.W.Co, Waltham, Mass and is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch comes on a silver albert chain which has the lion passant mark on each link and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1905.

The chain has a silver fob which has Bimingham hallmark for 1936. The cartouch on the front is stamped P.T.1936.

The long side of the chain measures 30 cm including the T bar and clasp.

The chain weighs 24.7 grams.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
